Luxury boutique on wheels
SINGAPORE - A new shopping concept here and in Asia-Pacific has arrived for the first time - on wheels.

And while shoppers can still head to Orchard Road to grab an array of branded items at this luxury boutique, the setting will not be the usual store at a mall but a S$120,000, 40-foot container truck that will also make stops in the Central Business District and HarbourFront, among other locations.

The concept was mooted some nine months ago, said Reebonz Group CEO Samuel Lim, whose Singapore-based company runs a members-only online shopping site where luxury goods such as Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade or Fendi can be bought at substantial discounts.

Its Reebonz Mobil truck carries bags, wallets and belts with discounts ranging from 15 to 50 per cent, for instance.

There are plans to extend this shopping convenience to Malaysia and Thailand at the end of this year.
